French President Nicolas Sarkozy aims to promote adoption of a law penalizing Armenian Genocide denial throughout Europe.

According to Hurriyet daily, the French leader proposed to sign a Genocide law-related framework agreement in all European states.

Under the German presidency, the EU member states signed a convention against racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia, and Holocaust.

France plans inclusion of Genocide criminalization issue on EU agenda. The response, however, is yet to be seen, the Turkish daily reported.
