Baku calls for ‘soonest resolution’ of Karabakh conflict

Azerbaijan calls on international community for more decisive and consistent position in resolution of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict and “creation of conditions for restoring peaceful atmosphere, stability and cooperation in the region.”

News.az reports that according to the annual report issued by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, “in 2011 official Baku continued negotiations on peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict on the basis of norms and principles of international law and restoration of its territorial integrity and sovereignty.”

Let’s add, that this statement seems to be strange against the background of non-constructive position of Azerbaijan, which tries to hamper the settlement process, constantly violating the ceasefire and threatening to begin war in Karabakh at any time.

Today, Jan 23, on the initiative of Russia’s President, a trilateral meeting between Armenian, Russian and Azerbaijani leaders will take place in Sochi.
