Political analyst Sergey Minasyan links passage of the bill criminalizing the Armenian Genocide denial by the French Senate to failure of Turkey’s normalization policy with Armenia.

As the expert told a press conference, Europe and the U.S. use the Armenian Genocide issue as a tool of pressure on Turkey, which can be avoided only through normalizing relations with Armenia.

Mr. Minasyan further noted that France’s decision will play a major role in the legal and political field of Europe, as well as in Turkey-Europe ties.
