Nokia believed to sell 1.3 million Lumia phones globally

PanARMENIAN.Net - According to estimates, the Nokia Lumia line of Windows Phone smartphones might have sold as many as 1.3 million units around the world.

i4u.com notes that the estimates of 1.3 million are devices sold to carriers and retailers, not end-users. If the carriers are sitting on huge stockpiles of the Nokia smartphones things aren’t as good as they might seem. Projections or shipments by the end of 2011 vary from 800,000 to 2 million, it says.

Nokia continues to lose money so the Lumia range of devices aren't helping the bottom line right now. Nokia is showing promise though and Windows Phone in general will get a big boost this year when other smartphone makers start offering devices running the OS, the report says.
