Israel selects Izabo for 2012 Eurovision Song Contest

PanARMENIAN.Net - Israeli broadcaster IBA announced that Izabo band with the song Time will represent Israel at 2012 Eurovision Song Contest in Baku, Azerbaijan.

According to eurovision.tv, after an internal selection process where acts were invited to submit entries to a special committee for consideration, it has been announced that Izabo made up of Ran Shem-Tov, Jonathan Levy, Shiri Hadar and Nir Mantzur will represent Israel at the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest in Baku with the song Time.

The song was penned by two of the group's members, Ran Shem-Tov and Shiri Hadar.

In 2011 Dana International came 15th in the second Semi-Final of Europe's favorite TV show in Düsseldorf with Ding Dong and consequently failed to qualify to the final.

IBA hopes that Israel's fortunes will be turned around with Izabo in Baku on May 22 when they will perform in the first Semi-Final.
