CONTROL OVER PORTABLE ANTI-AIRCRAFT ROCKET COMPLEXES SALE TO BE ESTABLISHED WITHIN CIS
During the summit held in Yalta, the leaders of the CIS member-states approved and adopted the resolution on establishing control over the sale of portable anti-aircraft rocket complexes (AARC) of "Igla" and "Strela" type within the CIS countries, as Russian defense minister Sergey Ivanov told Novosti agency. "The dangerousness of this weapon is known to everybody, besides, it is also being used by terrorists", - the military department head emphasized. He explained that henceforth every CIS member-state should take the responsibility of informing one another about export and import of AARC as well as reveal the data about possessing such. The minister also underscored that Azerbaijan, Georgia and Ukraine had some remarks at first, but they were convinced of the necessity of adoption such a resolution taking into consideration its meeting the interests of all the countries in the struggle against international terrorism. The minister believes this resolution to be success of the CIS summit in Yalta.
