Microsoft confirms Windows 8 logoFebruary 18, 2012 - 13:54 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Windows 8 logo which was leaked last week appears to be legitimate, and it’s what Microsoft will use to represent the next version of their operating system, Geek.com reports. In a Windows 8 Team blog post written by Sam Moreau, the Principal Director of User Experience for Windows, the logo was officially revealed alongside an explanation of how it came to be. It can be clearly seen that the flag effect is gone and the design is greatly simplified. In addition to being monochromatic it is flat and looks more like an actual window than it has in the history of the operating system. Moreau notes that with the Windows 8 logo the company is returning to its roots - the Windows 1.0 logo actually looked like a window. With Windows 3.0 and beyond, that windows was wave-shaped, which eventually evolved into more of a flag, thanks to shadowing and other effects.
