TURKISH FOREIGN MINISTER DENIES REPORTS ON TALKS BEING HELD ON ARMENIAN-TURKISH BORDER OPENING
Minister for foreign affairs of Turkey Abdullah Gul has denied the reports of some media that he is holding talks with the Armenian foreign minister over the opening of the Armenian-Turkish border. As he told journalists in Baku, his meetings with Vardan Oskanian are held for the purpose of "contributing to settlement of conflicts." At that A. Gul stated another trilateral meeting between foreign ministers of Armenia, Turkey and Azerbaijan was possible. Commenting on the opportunity of placing US military bases in Azerbaijan, the Turkish minister said it would not increase the tension in the region, but would promote stability.
