Fighters, helicopters to guard Ukraine during Euro 2012

Up to four fighters and two helicopters will permanently guard guests and participants during the Euro 2012 European Football Championship, according to Director of Operations - Deputy Chief of Staff of the Ukrainian Air Force Command, Major-General Viktor Hamora.

"Up to four fighters and two helicopters will be constantly keeping watch at airdromes and in the air over Ukraine during the Euro 2012," he said during a briefing for representatives of the military and diplomatic corps accredited in Ukraine.

According to him, Ukraine intends to continue consultations with a Polish working group to amend the agreement between the defense ministries of both countries to exchange information on situation in the airspace, and flight operations by Ukrainian and Polish military aircraft in the airspace of the two states, Interfax reported.
