CE CALLS ARMENIA AND AZERBAIJAN TO SOLVE KARABAKH ISSUE IN NEAR FUTURE

PanARMENIAN.Net - At a sitting of the Council of Europe (CE) Parliamentary Assembly January 27 the draft of the resolution on fulfillment of Armenia's commitments to the CE will be discussed. As reported by "525" Baku newspaper, there is an item on the Nagorno Karabakh settlement included in the draft, which notes that within the latest period no notable progress was made in the issue. The resolution includes a call to the top leaderships of Armenia and Azerbaijan "to intensify the top-level contacts to achieve a peaceful resolution of the problem in the near future." The Assembly also calls the parties to continue regional cooperation and interparliamentary dialogue aiming at improvement of the political climate.
