Armenian expert expects no major developments in foreign policy

No serious developments are to be expected in the foreign policy during the coming two months, Armenian political analyst Sergey Minasyan said.

“Domestic political life in Armenia will develop more actively,” Minasyan told a press conference in Yerevan on February 27.

The analyst did not rule out that the disposition of forces may change in future, but “today the Republican Party of Armenia, Prosperous Armenia party and the Armenian National Congress are the favorites of the election race.”

Minasyan mentioned it is unclear now whether the opposition Heritage will run with a united list with some other political force or participate in the elections independently.

“Indeed, Dashnaktsutyun will have its loyal voters, as always,” he added. “All in all, domestic political developments will be more important for us; as to the foreign policy, April 24 and the decision of the French Senate are the top events,” the expert said.
