RPA, Prosperous Armenia clinch deal on constituency 21

Sources of Haykakan Zhamanak daily claim that the Republican Party of Armenia and the Prosperous Armenia party have reached an agreement on the constituency 21.

Neither Nahapet Gevorgyan from RPA nor Rustam Gasparyan from Prosperous Armenia party will be nominated here.

According to paper’s earlier reports, President Serzh Sargsyan demanded that Prosperous Armenia’s leader Gagik Tsarukyan should not nominate Gasparyan in constituency 21. Deputy Gasparyan who currently represents this constituency told the paper’s reporter a week ago that he will not run for this district only if Nahapet Gevorgyan nicknamed “Novo” is not nominated here either.

On Feb 27 Nahapet Gevorgyan declared he had nothing to tell the paper and disconnected his phone. The paper failed to talk with Gasparyan as well. According to the paper’s data, President Sargsyan demanded that Gasparyan should not be included in top places of Prosperous Armenia’s proportional list.
