PROTOCOL ON PASSING TO RUSSIA HRAZDAN HPP SIGNED

PanARMENIAN.Net - The protocol on joint measures for Armenia's passing the Hrazdan Heat Power Plant and Hrazdan Energy Company CJSC to Russia has been signed in Yerevan today. As co-chairman of the Armenian-Russian intergovernmental commission, RF Vice Premier Boris Alyoshin told journalists, the Hrazdan HPP is the last enterprise Armenia passes to Russia within the frames of "Property for Debt" treaty. "The issues of new investments and measures for increasing the efficiecy of the plant's functioning will be considered during the forthcoming sitting of the Armenian-Russian intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation, which is to be held in Moscow late March", he informed. To remind, the treaty on passing Armenia's property to pay off the $93 million state debt to Russia was concluded July 2002.
