KARABAKH TALKS MECHANISM SHOULD FULLY FUNCTION IN 2004, DEPUTY FOREIGN MINISTER OF RUSSIA SUPPOSES
The Nagorno Karabakh conflict will not be solved in 2004, however the negotiation mechanism should fully function, first deputy foreign minister of Russia Vyacheslav Trubnikov told journalists, Novosti Russian agency reported. In his words, the main task now is to recommence the talks as soon as possible. The meeting of Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan Robert Kocharian and Ilham Aliyev in Geneva "was important, however, naturally, it could not answer all questions," Trubnikov noted. In his words, Moscow also hopes for serious progress in the Karabakh settlement in 2004.
