VYACHESLAV TRUBNIKOV CALLED TO "NOVEL STANCE" TO KARABAKH ISSUE
One has to view the Nagorno Karabakh problem from some original, novel stance, not locking oneself in what we are used to. Deputy foreign minister of Russia, co-chair of the OSCE Minsk conference on the Nagorno Karabakh issue Vyacheslav Trubnikov holds this opinion. In his words, this century is that of new look at many problems, which seemed to be firm 100 years ago, and it has questioned old approaches. V. Trubnikov cited the instance of East Timor. "You know that East Timor struggled for its independence and finally gained it. Meanwhile, the independence is internationally recognized," the Russian diplomat said in an interview with Novosti Russian agency and Azeri journalists, devoted to Ilham Aliyev's visit to Moscow.
