EBRD representatives seek update on Armenia’s economy

High-ranking representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will visit Armenia to get an update on Armenian economy and expected role that EBRD can play in the country.

According to the bank’s press service, the visit will take place in the context of the forthcoming EBRD Country Strategy for Armenia within 2012-2015. The priorities of the new Country Strategy for Armenia are expected to include strengthening the country’s financial sector and supporting the development of the private sector, including support for small and medium-sized businesses in Armenia.

The EBRD delegation includes EBRD Managing Director for Turkey, Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia Olivier Descamps and Paul-Henri Forestier, the EBRD Director for Caucasus, Moldova & Belarus.

The delegation members, as well as head of EBRD Yerevan Office Valeriu Razlog will meet the local journalists on March 7.
