EBD set to double its credit portfolio in Armenia in 2012

Eurasian Development Bank has extensive plans with regard to Armenia, deputy chairman of Eurasian Development Bank, Dmitry Zhurba said.

“We hope to at least double our credit portfolio during this year; still, we have to see whether circumstances will allow doing this,” he told a press conference on March 12 in Yerevan.

The EBD representative reminded that $54 million were allocated to the country's financial sector since the bank launched in activities in Armenia. About $30 million were aimed to direct crediting of trade enterprises and another $10 million were allotted within the framework of the loan agreement for SME funding signed on March 12 with Areximbank-Gazprombank Group CJSC, the total sum thus amounting to almost $100 million.
