Artur Aleksanyan: proud to win gold for my country

PanARMENIAN.Net - European champion in Greco-Roman wrestling Artur Aleksanyan who recently won gold in European Championships in Belgrade said that he is glad to have grabbed the first medal among the older.

“I was proud to win a gold medal, as it was a great honor for my country, too. The clash in 1/8 final was the toughest,” Aleksanyan said.

Aleksanyan made it to European Championships final in 2011, winning silver medal. According to him, he trained hard throughout the year.

“Hopefully, I will perform successfully at ranking tournaments and will qualify for the London Olympics,” the wrester said.
