Ridley Scott’s “Prometheus” preview clip hits the web (Video)March 13, 2012 - 20:55 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - A preview clip for the full-length trailer for Ridley Scott’s “Prometheus” has been released online, featuring new footage from the 3D sci-fi/horror flick. Much like Fox cranked up fan anticipation by unveiling short promo clips in the days leading up to the unveiling of an official Prometheus teaser trailer, the studio has now released a preview for the full-length Prometheus theatrical. That second trailer will premiere this Saturday (March 17) at Downtown Disney in Anaheim, with Prometheus director Ridley Scott and co-screenwriter Damon Lindelof present for a Q&A session following the event. This new Prometheus trailer preview features a few new snippets of footage which continue to tease the maybe-sorta-Alien prequel’s dark atmosphere and disturbing plot twists. It doesn’t provide much more than brief shots of the film’s majestical foreboding visuals and closeups of cast members like Noomi Rapace (the Swedish Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) and Idris Elba (Thor), looking panicked about the calamitous events unfolding before their very eyes. Thanks to an ingenious Prometheus promotional viral video featuring Guy Pearce as corporate head Peter Weyland – and Scott’s previous comments about the philosophical concepts and grand notions that inform the film’s narrative – most moviegoers are excited to learn more about what Prometheus will serve up in terms of plot, to go along with the impressive 3D imagery and creepy mood that’s resonated throughout early footage. Of course, the really big questions that everyone wants some answers to are: How exactly does Prometheus connect to the events in Alien? And can Scott’s new venture into the realm of sci-fi and horror truly recapture the unnerving spirit of that 1979 classic, while also pushing the boundaries of its genre(s)? We will know for certain when Prometheus hits theaters in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D around the U.S. on June 8, 2012, Screen Rant reported.
