Europe Program Director of International Crisis Group (ICG) says President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev played an active role in Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement.

Sabine Freizer favored Russian President’s personal participation in conflict resolution, namely the meetings held between Presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia on his initiative.

“However, I don’t believe Russian president-elect Vladimir Putin will maintain activity in Karabakh settlement process , considering the passivity he displayed during his previous presidential term,” SalamNews quoted Freizer as saying.
