EUROPARLIAMENT AGAIN CONFIRMED RECOGNITION OF ARMENIAN GENOCIDE IN OTTOMAN TURKEY
The European Parliament again confirmed the Resolution of 1987 on recognition of the Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Turkey. As reported by the RA MFA press service, it was reiterated in "European Policy toward the South Caucasus" resolution worked out by Swedish deputy Per Gahrton that was adopted at yesterday's plenary session of the Europarliament. At the same time the European deputies refused to omit the clause that states Turkey as a country, which together with Azerbaijan is imposing the economic blockade of Armenia. Taking into account sanctions of the kind applied towards Armenia by its neighbors, the delicacy of the issue of closing the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant was underscored in the resolution adopted.
