Oscilloscope lands “Baraka” follow-up “Samsara”March 15, 2012 - 16:58 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Oscilloscope Laboratories has acquired U.S. rights to Mark Magidson and Ron Fricke's Samsara, which had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. The indie distributor plans an August theatrical release, The Hollywood Reporter said. Filmed over a period of more than four years in twenty-five countries on five continents, Samsara uses 65mm cinematography to document sacred grounds, disaster zones, industrial complexes and natural wonders as it explores the mundane and miraculous wonders of the world. Magidson and Fricke have also made the films Baraka and Chronos. Oscilloscope has released the films The Messenger, The Exploding Girl, A Film Unfinished, Howl, Meek's Cutoff and We Need to Talk About Kevin. Upcoming releases include The Other F Word and If a Tree Falls: A Story of the Earth Liberation Front.
