Armenian-letter SMS to be available soon

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian government is carrying out works aimed at introducing services to send SMS with the use of Armenian letters. As the head of Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) of RA Robert Nazaryan said during a government meeting, discussions with three mobile phone operators of Armenia were organized on the issue, under the instruction of the Prime Minister.

He stressed the need to order relevant equipment to alter telephone applications, with Armenia to address the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).

In this context, Armenian Prime Minster Tigran Sargsyan noted that appropriate equipment is already being produced by Nokia. According to Mr. Nazaryan, its number in the market doesn’t exceed 1-2%.
