ARFD says joining coalition hardly probable

Head of ARF Dashnaktsutyun parliamentary group Vahan Hovhannisyan commented on the possibility of his party’s joining the ruling coalition following the parliamentary elections.

“Everything will depend on the composition of the future parliament, particularly the relations between the political forces,” he said.

“No political scenario must be ruled out if it proves to foster the country’s development and ensure its defense capacity,” Mr. Hovhannisyan said, excluding the current possibility to join the coalition.

ARFD member Armen Rustamyan, in turn, noted that the party wouldn’t have quit the ruling coalition if it had been an end in itself. According to him, the party underscores the importance of program implementation, which resulted in its cooperation.

“We can’t join the coalition which doesn’t turn words into actions,” he concluded.
