Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions has acquired North American rights to Jonathan Kasdan's romance "The First Time", according to The Wrap.

The movie is about a couple of high school students, Dave, a senior about to graduate, and Aubrey, a junior who goes to a different school. They start a casual conversation when they meet at a party, but over the course of a weekend, their relationship becomes more intimate and complicated than expected.

Kasdan, who has directed several episodes of "Californication" in addition to "In the Land of Women," wrote and directed the movie. His brother Jake and father Lawrence are also directors.

Dylan O'Brien ("Teen Wolf"), Britt Robertson ("The Secret Circle"), Victoria Justice ("Fun Size"), Craig Roberts ("Submarine"), James Frenchville ("Animal Kingdom"), LaMarcus Tucker ("Glee"), Maggie Elizabeth Jones ("We Bought a Zoo") and Christine Taylor ("Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story") star in the movie, which debuted at Sundance this year.

"Friends With Benefits" producers Martin Shafer and Liz Gloter produced.
