The matter concerns articles, referring to famous Armenians, specifically, artist Martiros Sarian, that referring Armenian epic poem David of Sasun, even about Stepanakert city, which "does not exist," in Aliyev's words. At the same time I. Aliyev was outraged that the years 1970-1980 were called "stagnant" in the encyclopedia. At the time Heydar Aliyev was First Secretary of the Communist Party of Azerbaijan and "those were years of prosperity for Azerbaijan," Aliyev Jr. said, considering the action of the editors of the encyclopedia as betrayal.![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire.
