IRAN-ARMENIA GAS PIPELINE CONSTRUCTION BEGUN

PanARMENIAN.Net - Iran has started the construction of its sector of the Iran-Armenia gas pipeline. To note, the total length of the pipeline is 140 km, 100 of which will extend through the Iranian territory. In the words of Armenia's Ambassador to Iran Gegham Gharibjanian over $120 million is needed for the construction of the 40-km sector of the Armenian sector of the pipeline, Iran.ru reports. According to him several companies have already offered their assistance, however the option was taken on an Iranian company. Without mentioning the name of the company, the Ambassador said that several days ago the President of the company visited Armenia to hold negotiations. In Gharibjanian's words, the construction will be finished by the spring of 2005 while natural gas will be delivered to Armenia in the beginning of 2007, that is before the terms fixed earlier.
