FIRST SOUTH CAUCASIAN MASS MEDIA CONFERENCE OPENED IN TBILISIOctober 26, 2004 - 23:54 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The first South Caucasian mass media conference opened in Tbilisi yesterday. The 2-day conference is organized by OSCE representative for press freedom Miklosh Kharasti with the assistance of the OSCE Mission in Georgia. As reported by the Mission, the conference participants will consider the central problems of the mass media in the South Caucasus in the 21-th century - freedom of information and the notion of libel. As reported by Novosti-Georgia news agency, over 50 leading journalists from Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia, who are to discuss the development of mass media in their countries, are taking part in the forum.![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
