NGO BEING FORMED BY OPPOSITION MEETINGS PARTICIPANTS DETAINED BY LAW-ENFORCEMENT BODIES IN THEIR TIME

PanARMENIAN.Net - The participants of opposition meetings and processions in Yerevan, in their time detained by the law-enforcement bodies of Armenia, intend to establish a non-governmental organization called "February 22." The aim of the union is to coordinate their common efforts in demanding that the authorities compensate for the moral and material damage inflicted on them. As representative of the initiative group Hrayr Melkonian told journalists, by detaining peaceful citizens the Armenian authorities violate human rights and freedoms. In his words, people "who could hamper to the authorities' attempts to falsify the presidential election at the scene" were detained for the most part.
