Mendez' words, his participation in the Genocide and Human Rights international conference opened in Yerevan today evidences the desire to understand and evaluate what fell to the Armenian people's lot in early past century. The historic memory of a people is a good assistant in it and it will provide an opportunity to explain to the international community what has happened, he noted. In his turn, R. Kocharian noted that none of the witnesses of the Armenian Genocide did not question the essence of the occurrence and the Armenian people today merely refreshes the memory of the international community.
