US Wishes to See Armenia Prospering, Sustainable and Democratic

PanARMENIAN.Net - "Washington has come to a conclusion that historical events started accelerating in this region," US Assistant Secretary of State for Europe and Eurasia Daniel Fried stated in Yerevan today. In his words, the visit, during which he has to pay a call to Georgia and Azerbaijan, was arranged on the instructions of State Secretary Condoleezza Rice. The visit schedule is mainly conditioned by "reformers and democratic forces in the region becoming stronger," the US Assistant Secretary of State said. "However, unfortunately, reactionary forces become stronger in some countries," D. Fried remarked. "Armenia has a very good position for strengthening democratic and economic reforms. The US wishes to see Armenia prospering, sustainable and democratic, as well as living in accord with itself and neighbors," Daniel Fried stated.
