PanARMENIAN.Net - A special brigade for participating in peacekeeping operations abroad is being formed within the Armenian Armed Forces, RA Deputy Defense Minister, Lieutenant General Arthur Aghabekyan stated during the rotation ceremony of the 4th shift of the Armenian peacekeepers within the Greek contingent in Kosovo. "Officer staff for participating in peacekeeping operations is being trained," he said. Having familiarized with the service conditions on the spot the Armenian military leadership offered the Greek party to increase the number of the Armenian peacekeepers included in the "East" multinational division. He is convinced that the Armenian peacekeepers will be sent to Kosovo during year and a half. The Armenian contingent is mostly engaged in patrolling the locality in Pritshina, where Serb refugees are settled, Aghabekyan noted, ITAR-TASS reports.
