Kocharian: Cooperation with Ajaria Should Be Activated

PanARMENIAN.Net - Today Armenian President Robert Kocharian met with Prime Minister of Ajarian Autonomous Republic Levan Varshalomidze, reported the Press Service of the Armenian leader. In the course of the meeting the parties discussed prospects for development of cooperation in a number of fields. The large number of Armenian tourists, who went to Ajarian resorts this summer, also evidences need to activate ties, R. Kocharian remarked. Available opportunities should be used to implement joint programs, he added. The Ajarian Government head informed the Armenian President that agreement is made over tourism, tobacco production and health programs. In his words, the Ajarian party is interested in application of Armenian experience in hotel business and service. Besides, the interlocutors discussed the opportunity of air and rail communications between Armenia and Ajaria, which will allow tourists to travel to resorts faster and more comfortably.
