Cooperation with NATO Important Constituent of Armenia Security System

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian FM Vartan Oskanian today met with NATO SecGen Special Representative for the South Caucasus and Central Asia Robert Simmons, reported the Press Service of the Armenian MFA. Speaking of the goal of his visit, R. Simmons noted efficient work with the special inter-departmental commission, responsible for implementation of the Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP). The Armenian FM said cooperation with the NATO and participation in Partnership for Peace Program is an important constituent of Armenia's multilevel security. Armenia intends to complete work over IPAP and begin its implementation in 2006. V. Oskanian and R. Simmons remarked the importance of informing society at large on the NATO goals and policy, specifically Armenia-NATO cooperation. At the instance of the guest, the Armenian FM briefed him on the latest developments in the Nagorno Karabakh peace process.
