Karabakh Conflict Parties Need Resoluteness and Political Will for Compromise

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia possesses political will necessary for settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, Armenian FM Vartan Oskanian stated at a press briefing in Berlin after a meeting with his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier, reported the Press Service of the Armenian MFA. In his words, both parties need to display resoluteness and political will for compromises. The year 2006 is a favorable period for settling the issue, the Armenian FM also remarked. Mr. Oskanian briefed Frank-Walter Steinmeier on the latest developments in the Karabakh settlement. The parties also discussed the situation in the South Caucasus. It was noted that inclusion of the countries of the region in the ENP enables cooperation with European countries in different aspects. March 1 V. Oskanian also met with German Chancellor's Foreign Policy and National Security Advisor Christoph Heusgen. He also delivered a lecture titled Against Unpredictability: State-Building in the Caucasus at the Friedrich Ebert Foundation. The Armenian FM also had a meeting with US German Marshall Fund experts.
