Russian Embassy: National Intolerance in Russia Not Targeted at Armenians Only

PanARMENIAN.Net - Employees of the Russian Embassy in Armenia met with the members of the Armenian delegation who took part in the Forum of Creative and Scientific Intelligentsia of the CIS member states held in Moscow April 14-15, 2006. As reported by the Embassy's press office, the Russian officials are convinced that xenophobia is peculiar not to Russian only. The Russian Embassy in Armenia expressed regret over the cases of violence against the Russian citizens of Armenian origin. "Unfortunately xenophobia is an evil that finds expression in the public life of multi-national states with developed democratic and social institutes. Thus, the statements on purposeful violation of rights through national intolerance against Armenians are groundless," the statement of the Russian Embassy says in part.
