KARABAKH LEADER DOUBTED BAKU DIPLOMACY PROFESSIONALISM

PanARMENIAN.Net - I have got the impression that the Azeri foreign minister Vilayat Guliyev and a number of Azeri politicians are engaged in diplomacy as amateurs. Nagorno Karabakh President Arkady Ghukasian told the Public TV Company of Armenia when commenting on the recent statement by Vilayat Guliyev that Baku was ready to negotiate with Nagorno Karabakh, "if Armenia does not interfere into the negotiation process." In his words, the Azeri party has been making such statements since 1991-1992, just when Armenia had an observer stand. However, in the course of bilateral of meetings between representatives of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic (NKR) and Azerbaijan held in 1993 the Azeri party itself insisted on Armenia's participation in the talks, A. Ghukasian reminded. In his words, as a result, the well-known Bishkek Agreement over Nagorno Karabakh was trilateral. Thereupon, the NKR leader stated one should scarcely take Guliyev's latest statements seriously. In Arkady Ghukasian's words, Armenia has its place and role in the Karabakh conflict settlement and it is exactly the guarantee of the Nagorno Karabakh security.
