Armenia should be ready for resumption of hostilities

PanARMENIAN.Net - Presently, there are no preconditions for resumption of hostilities in Karabakh but Armenia should be always on alert, RA Defense Minister said.

"The Armenian leadership spares no effort to resolve the conflict peacefully," Seyran Ohanyan said at a meeting with students and teaching staff of State Agrarian University of Armenia.

"Armenia maintains the balance of forces thanks to constant modernization of defense technology and armament. By well-known reasons, Armenia and Azerbaijan have different financial capabilities. But a similar situation was in 1992-1993, when Armenian armed forces defeated the enemy and ensured security of the nation. We have advantages at the frontline. The March 4 events proved that Armenian servicemen can rebuff any aggression," he said, Novosti Armenia reports.

On March 4 early morning Azeri special forces attacked a position of the NKR Defense Army near Levonarkh settlement of Mardakert region. The attack was rebuffed and status quo restored.
