ARMENIA SERIOUSLY DISTURBED OVER COMPLICATION OF RUSSIAN-GEORGIAN RELATIONSSeptember 9, 2002 - 18:50 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia is seriously disturbed over the tension originated in relations between Russia and Georgia. As reported by "Arminfo" agency, Armenian foreign minister Vardan Oskanian stated it. Commenting on the possible impact of the crisis in Russian-Georgian relations on the situation in the South Caucasian region, the minister did not rule out possible negative consequences, as in his words, "the region is rather small and everything is interconnected here: any tension is fraught with threat of destabilization in neighbor countries." V.Oskanian expressed hope for the parties to find a mutually acceptable way out of the created situation.![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
