Armenia ready to assist peacekeeping operations in AfghanistanJuly 10, 2008 - 16:18 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - RA Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan met Wednesday with Germany's Ambassador to Armenia, Ms. Andrea Joana-Maria Wiktorin, the Minister's spokesman, col. Seyran Shahsuvaryan told PanARMENIAN.Net Minister Ohanyan thanked the Ambassador for the support rendered to the Armenian Defense Ministry, specifically supply with medicine and training of officers. He said Armenia is ready to develop cooperation and to assist peacekeeping operations in Afghanistan. He also emphasized that participation of German servicemen in Cooperative Longbow/Lancer-2008 exercise will also promote cooperation between the two countries. The officials also referred to implementation of programs within the IPAP. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
