CIS Institute experts to visit Karabakh

PanARMENIAN.Net - Mikhail Alexandrov head of the Caucasus department at Moscow's Institute for Commonwealth of Independent States, said he intends to visit Nagorno Karabakh to meet with the republic's leadership.

"Russia closely watched the February presidential election in Armenia. The post-election processes aroused serious concerns. Victory of opposition forces in Armenia would imply radical shift of political line: orientation to the West, surrender of Nagorno Karabakh and collapse of the Russian-Armenian strategic partnership, although Ter-Petrossian did not publicly announce his plans," the expert said.

The new Armenian leader has strong positions, according to him.
