CIS COUNCIL OF FOREIGN MINISTERS TO CONSIDER APPOINTMENT OF SPECIAL REPRESENTATIVE ON SETTLING CONFLICTS IN COMMONWEALTH TERRITORY

PanARMENIAN.Net - In autumn the CIS council of foreign ministers intends to consider the question of appointment of special representative on conflict settlement and prevention in the territory of the Commonwealth countries. As reported by "RIA Novosti" agency, advisor of peacemaking activity department of the CIS executive committee Mikhail Shalimo reported it. In Shalimo's words, the document essence is that a special representative responsible for the political settlement of conflict, as well as for coordination of diplomatic activities and military operations will be appointed in a conflict zone on the decision of the Council of the CIS leaders. Depending on the specific character and the scale of the conflict creation of a whole settlement mission is possible. Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kirgizia, Russia and Tajikistan participated in working out the document. Azerbaijan, Moldova and Ukraine have announced that they do not participate in the agreement.
