  RA and Turkish FM' statement came as a second surprise to Armenian peopleMay 7, 2009 - 17:32 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - After Maindorf declaration, the statement issued by Armenian and Turkish Foreign Ministries came as a second surprise to Armenian people, Heritage Faction representative, RA MP Stepan Safaryan told a news conference in Yerevan. "We cant exclude the possibility that a document on establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Turkey will be signed some day," RA MP noted. According to Stepan Safaryan, normalization of Armenian-Turkish ties started on the initiative of Moscow, which was later taken over by West. "Currently Russia assumed the role of a detached observer. At present Moscow is more interested in Armenian-Azeri relations," the MP emphasized. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution. President of the Armenian parliament Alen Simonyan met with the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova.
