NEW MECHANISM TO SETTLE KARABAKH CONFLICT BEING CREATED WITHIN OSCE MINSK GROUP FRAMEWORKMarch 15, 2002 - 18:46 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - A new mechanism to settle Nagorno Karabakh conflict is being created within the framework of OSCE Minsk Group. «Arminfo» agency reports First Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Valeriy Loshchin told RIA «Novosti» agency about it. He did not specify what a mechanism it would be. Loshchin also noted that OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs, who were in Armenia and Azerbaijan the other day arranged for creation of a new mechanism, which would promote the negotiation process. «There must not be any suspensions or long pauses in the negotiation process. A mechanism is necessary to secure the continuity of the negotiation process: contacts, meetings, conversations, search of possible formulas,» - the Russian diplomat stressed. «It is important not to hurry now, but step by step work out the basis, which is necessary to promote the conflict settlement,» - Loshchin pointed out speaking of the solution of the Karabakh problem.![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
