NATO supports OSCE's efforts in Karabakh process

PanARMENIAN.Net - On November 17, Armenian MPs attended NATO Parliamentary Assembly's 55th session. After the speech made by British MP David Miliband, leader of Heritage parliamentary faction Stepan Safaryan addressed him a question, indicating the causes of military misbalance in the region. «Azerbaijan continues increasing its military expenses for unleashing a new war. As noted by one of speakers, the money they have for today and tomorrow is now being spent for the realization of yesterday's goals. Experts currently speak on the maturing war in the region. What lesson did you learn from last year's conflict to prevent a new war in South Caucasus?» he asked.

In response, Milibend particularly said that Karabakh conflict should be resolved by the assistance of certain international structures within OSCE format and Russia-NATO dialogue.

This was followed by Azeri representative's objection that the session was not proper occasion for such discussions.

Milband expressed support to territorial integrity principle, highly assessing OSCE's efforts in Karabakh settlement process.

After hearing British official's response, Azeri MP left session hall, Heritage faction's press service reports.
