Armenia to take concrete steps against Baku's military rhetoric

PanARMENIAN.Net - It's time for Armenian diplomacy not only to make adequate responses to Azeri President's military statements but also take concrete steps in that direction, European Integration NGO Chair Karen Bekaryan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.

"When I heard Azeri President Ilham Aliyev's statement prior to Munich meeting, I was under the impression there'd be no meeting at all. Aliyev's statement perplexed not only the Armenian side but also Minks Group Co-Chairs," the expert said.

Estimating bellicose statements as "Baku's style", Bekaryan stressed the importance of Yerevan's forcing Azerbaijan to demonstrate respect for Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh.

According to him, Armenia can talk international community into setting deadlines to Azerbaijan's military statements.

"Ilham Aliyev may force Armenia to recognize Nagorno Karabakh's independence and not only," the expert said.
