Yerevan, Riga created good platform for effective cooperation

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia strives towards close cooperation with EU. Eastern Partnership initiative may mark a new level in Armenia-EU relations, President Serzh Sargsyan said today during the official dinner with Latvian President and his spouse.



"During negotiations, we stressed the role of promoting broader information exchange in spheres of culture, science and education, as well as direct interpersonal contacts. We also attach importance to restoring the best traditions in tourism sphere," President noted.



For his part, Latvian President Valdis Zatlers said that Yerevan and Riga have created a good platform for effective cooperation. He expressed confidence that recent Armenian-Latvian business forum will impart a new spirit to bilateral economic ties, Armenian President's press service reported.
