ARMENIAN PRESIDENT PRESENTED INCOME AND PROPERTY STATEMENTJanuary 30, 2002 - 23:15 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian President Robert Kocharian was one of the first statesmen to present his income and property statement to corresponding offices. Prime Minister Andranik Margarian, leaders of the Parliament, some members of the Government have already presented such statements. Let us remind that according to the law high rank statesmen have to present income and property declarations not later than February 1. While up to today some three hundred statements have been received by corresponding offices. But there are about three thousand persons total in Armenia to whom the law requirement applies. These include the President, Government members, deputies of the Parliament, deputy ministers, judges, community and municipal district leaders. Close relatives of the high rank statesmen should also present statements. Taking them into consideration, some 10-12 thousand people will have to present income and property statements. In case of presenting statements not in time the law provides for a penalty of 50 thousand drams. The law also provides for an order of controlling the authenticity of the information presented, but the Government has not established it yet. The information concerning the income and property of the officials should be made public in mass media to the middle of the year.![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire.
