Romik Hovnanyan: Turkey seeks to use St. Cross mass for political ends

PanARMENIAN.Net - Turkey seeks to use St. Cross mass for political ends, Van Vaspurakan expatriates community chairman Romik Hovnanyan stated.

“Turkey aims to organize a show to demonstrate good will towards Yerevan to international community,” Van Vaspurakan expatriates community chairman told a news conference in Yerevan.

Romik Hovnanyan was skeptical over the statements of readiness to accept over 6000 guests to Van, noting that the island is not spacious enough to welcome more than 1000. “Moreover, it’s technically impossible for 6000 people to cross Georgia’s border in within 2 days.”

The chairman of Armenian Public Council subcommittee for preservation of monuments and national historic values, Jasmine Asryan once again urged to refrain from participating in the event.

“This is a matter of honour for the entire Armenian nation,” she stressed.
