David Rstakyan calls attention to increasingly deteriorating situation in Javakhk

PanARMENIAN.Net - Virk party co-chair, David Rstakyan urged to call the attention of international structures to the problems of Javakhk Armenians, in response to increasingly deteriorating situation in the region.

“Recent statement by Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze that there’s no such region as Javakhk on the map of Georgia, suggests there are no Javakhk Armenians either. Georgian authorities’ introduction of “Georgian Armenians” term was aimed to replace “Javahk Armenians”,” Rstakyan told a news conference in Yerevan.

Yerkir Union chairman Sevak Artsruni, in turn, spoke of U.S. indifference to violation of national minorities’ rights, prompted by the latter’s geopolitical interests. “Armenian lobby in U.S. should actively raise the issue of violation of Javakhk Armenians rights in Georgia,” he stressed.
